Fifty years ago, Aston Martin was a few empty sheds in Newport Pagnell with seemingly no future except in history books. In the USA, Walter Cronkite famously donned a black tie to announce the sad news, leading to a small boy pestering his dad to something about it. That dad was Peter Sprague. OK, maybe that last part is a bit fanciful, but it is true that many small boys donated their pocket money to help save James Bond's car company.
Peter famously then brought Aston Martin back to life in 1975 and went on to create a business that launched the 'wedge' Lagonda and the Bulldog 'hypercar'. He later passed the company on to Victor Gauntlett, which led to Ford's involvement and ultimately its survival to this day.
This is a very special opportunity to listen to the man himself, and ask your own questions about what it was really like at Aston Martin in 1975 to 1981.
